CRAIG BROWN AND SUZANNE SMITH ENMED CAPSTONE PROJECT SCHOLARSHIPS RECIPIENTS
The Craig and Galen Brown Foundation is pleased to announce the inaugural recipients of Capstone Project Scholarships are Zachary Richards and Cailin O’Connell.
Zachary’s Capstone Project aims to improve the design of the slit lamp telescope, the centerpiece of ophthalmic examination that examines the eye by improving the ergonomics of the device to accommodate differing body types and improve the equity of ophthalmic outcomes and prevent physician injury.
Cailin’s Capstone Project aims to provide early detection of ovarian tumors by using metalloprotease nanoparticles which are associated with a number of malignancies. Using nanoparticles targeted to an ovarian cancer microenvironment will improve early detection of ovarian cancer thereby decreasing time to treatment, and therefore, reduce mortality in women with ovarian cancer.
Zachary and Cailin will each receive a $10,000 scholarship. Congratulations!!
